About this event

Durham Region International Film Festival (DRIFF) presents the return of its fall festival to various locations in the Durham Region September 29th to October 1st. Don't miss a weekend full of inspiring films from Canada and across the globe. It’s a cultural event not to be missed!

Tickets to each screening will be $10

A limited number of day passes for the final day at the Biltmore Theatre will be available for only $15 while supplies last.

Film producers and directors both have major responsibilities during the filmmaking process: script, talent, budget, schedule, camera, artistic aspects, post-production and marketing. Learn from and engage with a panel of DRIFF and local filmmakers about their key responsibilities, challenges and excitement while capturing their vision for the screen.

1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m: Foley Workshop

SPECIAL INDUSTRY EVENT

In filmmaking, Foley is the reproduction of everyday sound effects added to films in post-production. They are created by the sound artist mimicking the actual sound source in a recording studio and can be anything from the swishing of clothing and footsteps to squeaky doors and breaking glass. Participate in this special Foley presentation to learn how everyday items are used to enhance the auditory experience of the movie.

2:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m: Industry Panel

DIALOGUES: Behind the Scenes with Cast and Crew 

From Los Angeles to Toronto to locations around the world, the film industry relies on film cast and crews with a wide array of skills in the field of film and video production. Engage with and learn from industry professionals who work in these exciting, well-paying careers: 1st Assistant Director, Bench Carpenter, Actress, Art Director and Location Manager.
